AVDI by ABRITES
The ABRITES Vehicle Diagnostic Interface (AVDI) is the latest-generation diagnostic tool developed by Abrites Ltd. It serves as the core platform for the entire ABRITES ecosystem and supports a wide range of vehicles—including cars, motorcycles, vans, trucks, ATVs, watercraft, and heavy-duty machinery (agricultural, marine, and more).
AVDI is exceptionally versatile, offering diagnostic capabilities for nearly all vehicle brands on the market. It supports both standard and advanced diagnostics, along with complex procedures such as key programming, ECU programming, module replacement, and instrument cluster calibration.
One of AVDI’s most powerful features is its integrated PassThru driver (J2534), which allows seamless use with third-party software when required. Fully compliant with SAE international standards, it enables access to third-party software by emulating various interface units—eliminating the need for additional tools and reducing both time and cost.
AVDI offers compatibility with major automotive manufacturers including Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Porsche, Lamborghini (VAG group), Mercedes-Benz (cars, trucks, and buses), Smart, BMW, Mini, Rolls-Royce, Toyota, Lexus, Peugeot, Citroën, Renault, Dacia, and many more. It also supports heavy-duty, agricultural, marine, and recreational vehicles through J1939 protocol compliance.
Standard diagnostics:
- Full vehicle scan – scan cars, vans, trucks, and heavy-duty vehicles with one click
- Module identification – AVDI reads and identifies all available modules in the vehicle and the data they store, e.g. VIN and part numbers (where applicable)
- Reading and clearing diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), a.k.a. faults
- Live values display – get live data information from the sensors in the vehicle in real time, e.g. temperature, RPMs, and more
- Actuator testing – identify any possible issues in the car by performing actuator tests
- Coding operations
More functionalities in the essential software:
(where applicable)
- Module adaptation
- Reset/renewal of second-hand modules
- Key and transponder programming
- Instrument cluster calibration
- Airbag renewal
- Change software version of modules (updates)
Advanced diagnostics:
(brand-specific)
- Calibrations
- Configuration settings
- Coding options
- Diagnostic channel adaptations
- Guided functions
- Hundreds more
AVDI is your gateway to professional vehicle diagnostics. It is compatible with more than 40 automotive brands, offering your workshop a wide range of opportunities.
- Key and transponder programming: in ALL KEYS LOST situations and spare key addition
- Cluster calibration: dashboard calibration for replacement and retrofitting purposes
- Module reset: renew second-hand units to use as replacement of faulty ones
- Module adaptation: adapting new and used modules in various types of vehicles
- ECU-related procedures: working with a vast array of Engine Control Units (reading and writing data)
In some cases AVDI may require additional hardware, such as cables, adapters and programmers in order to complete a task. Find the most needed hardware below:
- PROTAG Key and Transponder Programmer (ZN103)
- ABPROG (ZN130)
- RH850/V850 Programmer (ZN085)
- Distribution Box Set (ZN151)
All available Abrites hardware can be found in the online shop HERE.
Other functionalities already included in AVDI Base for VAG:
- Diagnostic channel adaptations
- Key programming by channel if the PIN is known (done in diagnostics in Instrument Cluster) - Guided functions for ECU, Instrument cluster, Navigation, Steering wheel, Electronic parking brake, Telephone, Comfort module and Body Control Module (enable/disable)
- Enable video in motion for MMI 2G and 3G
- Steering lock adaptation (done in diagnostics on a separate channel)
- 7-digit to 4-digit PIN conversion
